Picture the scene: it's 1997. The Macarena is no.1 in the charts. Andrew Shillington, owner of Sydney design studio Shillington Graphics (can you see where this is going?), is having trouble recruiting talented junior designers fresh out of college. They're full of great ideas but many seem to lack the high-end computer skills, practical knowledge of design theory and the ability to meet the design industry's challenging deadlines. For Andrew the only logical conclusion is to recruit the best designers he can find and create a course that covers everything that he, and other employers, will need in a junior designer. Students will find jobs if they have relevant industry skills and knowledge. Employers will find graduates who can hit the ground running. It's perfect! If only he can think of a name...
