Junior Graphic Designer

 

A typical day is just like Shillington prepared me for. In the mornings, I’m given a creative brief. I am told the deadline and  "get to work."

 

I love the challenges that come with each new brief. They’re all completely different, which definitely keeps things interesting and allows me to grow into a well-rounded designer.

 

December 2010.

 

I had a job in sales and marketing.

 

Not too much- I had taken a few design courses at a local art school. 

 

I chose Shillington because I knew I wanted to do graphic design and I wanted to do it soon. I didn’t feel like going through four more years of college.

 

I learned so much in the three months at Shillington but the most important thing I took away from the course is fully understanding the design principles. The course really helped train me to have a designer’s eye.

 

I had an amazing experience at Shillington. The campus is located in the heart of the city, the lab is equipped with the latest computers and software, and the teachers are awesome and make it fun!

 

When I graduated, I was really proud of my portfolio. I felt pretty confident entering job interviews because I had a portfolio I was excited to show.

 

It took me less than two months to find a paid graphic design position

 

Really good! The teachers at Shillington know what they’re doing and make sure that each student walks away with an amazing portfolio.

 

Designing my first professional website.

 

In just the two months I’ve been working, I’ve learned so much already. In the next year, I’m excited to grow even more as a designer.
