Where do you work?
I recently landed myself a role at CouchCreative.

What is your role?
Designer & CMY Caterer.

Did you feel confident about entering the design industry after you graduated?
Yes I did! I felt that Shillington had passed on enough skills for me to 'hit the ground running' so to speak.

What were you doing before the course?
Fixing computers and crawling around underneath peoples desks making sure everything was plugged in correctly.

Why did you decide to do the course?
So that I wouldn't have to crawl around under desks! Seriously though, I decided to do the course as I was at a crossroads in my life. I had always wanted to follow a career in the creative industries and be passionate about what I do. With that in mind, I also wanted to do it quickly. That's where Shillington appeals the most I suppose. To people in my position who may not have the time required to go back to university.

What was the most valuable thing you took away from the course?
Apart from my portfolio? The confidence and knowledge that I have the skills to get started as a graphic designer and grow from there.

Where do you see yourself in 12 months?
I haven't thought that far ahead. I guess I would still be here learning and kerning. Hopefully with more skills under my belt and just motoring ahead.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Getting a job! Seriously, I consider myself very fortunate to have found work and it's the highlight so far. To think that just six months ago I was still in a career that wasn't rewarding and that I was not interested in progressing in to now. I can't wait to get up every day and go to work. Thanks again to all of you at Shillington. I couldn't have done it without you all!
